Each student receives
- a copy of the latest
version of the IAQ and HVAC Workbook,
- a pre-programmed
AutoCalc calculator which performs common IAQ calculations, and
- handout materials.
- EPA/NIOSH Building
Air Quality Manual.

AutoCalc:
|
The preprogrammed calculator's programs calculate duct
data, estimate OA and dilution air volumes, calculate purge and buildup
rates, estimate amounts of outdoor air volumes from temperatures and CO2
decay, and much more. See description here.

Who should attend:

Industrial hygienists, facilities engineers and
maintenance managers, HVAC engineers, testing and balancing professionals,
safety professionals, architects, compliance officers, HVAC maintenance
supervisors.

Lab:
|
A measurements demonstration/lab will be provided on the
second day.

Objectives:
|
- Determine the
quantities of outdoor air being delivered to an occupied space.
- Estimate the
required air flow for dilution of indoor air contaminants.
- Characterize a space
for IAQ/HVAC parameters.
- Conduct an IAQ/HVAC
investigation, including the development and administration of
interviews, questionnaires, complaint forms, and logs.
- Perform simple
testing of HVAC systems.
- Read HVAC plans and
specifications.
- Develop an IAQ/HVAC
management plan.
- Develop a smoking
policy and HVAC controls.
- Prepare for existing
and proposed changes in the ASHRAE 62 standard for IAQ.
